I adore vintage vans. I am on the taller side of life. I appreciate the vantage point from stepping up and into one of my vans.

I am not the type of girl who likes to do her nails. I prefer to detail my ride and go trollin'. There is nothing better than sitting behind the wheel steering my V8 with shined up chrome, a dash of patina and the music crankin' with my chihuahua co-pilot riding shot gun.
The Pearl is named after The Pearl of Great Price from the book of Matthew 13:44- 46
She is Pearl Gray in color and came into my life after my second hip replacement. When I saw her something that lay dormant in my soul for decades began to stir. I towed her home and began to take apart and clean the interior. It is enough for me and the type of vehicle that most reflects my values. Numerous mechanics have been involved in getting her running again. Every time she leaves the shop she just runs better. I felt the same after each new hip!
The process of getting her on the road again paralleled to my own process of reemergence.
The Ruby, is named after the Bible verse that states she is far above rubies. She is my reminder to be a woman of noble character as exemplified in Proverbs 31: 10-31
She is red of course. I called Dodge to ask the color name. they told me it is deep red metallic. I think Captain Obvious named that one!
Where The Pearl was part of my reemergence, The Ruby is driving me with solidity into my new life. She was garage kept so needed less work, but will need some interior TLC soon. My co-pilot likes to hide under her seats and run zoomies whenever he can!

The creative side of me represented here is the product of my participation at local Arts Councils. I turned my interests into skills when I attended classes at The West Windsor Arts Council in Photography and Oil Painting, The Princeton Arts Council for Oil Painting and Drawing, Grounds for Sculpture for One Day Workshops, Project Write Now for Song Writing Classes, Lawrence Fiction Writers, The Princeton Library Writing Group, Tuesday Memoir Writers and Poetry Workshops. I sat on the board of the first annual Rutger's Writer's Conference and took Graffiti classes in Trenton when offered by local street artists.
I have taken piano lessons with eight different teachers, however none of them knew Ragged time, so I am teaching myself! I enjoy playing on my old upright grande pianos. One is from 1904 and the other 1910.
I have been writing since I could hold a pencil and reach a typewriter with the help of the yellow pages at my Great Uncle's Shop. It was there I developed a love of office supplies and a respect of business ownership.

I love a good back story. Look for that in my reviews. You know, the ones where the character, in this case the business owner, had to make tough decisions and sacrifices.
Business owners have a unique place in our world today. They were once the foundation of our society and what the country was built on. Now more than ever they have the ability to keep our country moving.
I am finally embracing this truth:
The way God made me is not random. It is by design. Every desire of my heart is there for a reason. There is no denying who I was born to be.
I am a writer, photographer, musician, mechanic, gardener, and sculptor of space in all that I do.
I keep the hours of a Night Owl, so appointments are best~
